vivo has begun teasing the next addition to its T series in India. The T5 5G is being positioned as the 5G follow-up to the T5 4G that launched in May, and the brand is now building anticipation ahead of a formal unveiling next week.
The first official hints come from vivo India’s social channels. The company is promoting faster on-device AI capabilities with a GenAI-ready neural processing unit, alongside a 3D curved display. The display claim points to a more immersive front with curved edges on both sides, a design language vivo has used on several mid-range models in recent months.
Slimness is also being pushed as a core selling point. Marketing material refers to an ultra slim body for the T5 5G, though vivo has not yet disclosed the exact measurement in millimetres. The emphasis on thinness fits with the current trend in the Indian mid-range segment where manufacturers compete on portability without sacrificing battery size.
Design clues from the X video
A short video posted by vivo India on X gives a first look at the rear styling. The footage suggests a horizontally aligned camera island, a layout reminiscent of the vivo S2. The island appears to house the camera sensors in a single bar, but vivo has not confirmed how many usable cameras the T5 5G will ship with or what specifications they will carry.
The teaser copy accompanying the video reads "Something remarkable is taking shape." The post adds a stay tuned call to action and the hashtag #GetSetTurbo, signalling a performance-oriented positioning for the device. No further hardware details are visible in the clip.
Launch timeline and market context
vivo has confirmed that more information will be shared on August 25 at 12 PM Indian time. The reveal will likely cover the full specification sheet, colour options, and availability plans for the Indian market.
The T5 family is already a multi-model line. With the T5 4G out since May, the T5 5G would broaden the series’ reach to 5G-first buyers who want a curved display and AI features at a mid-range price point.
Early pricing indications circulating with affiliate listings point to two configurations: 128GB storage with 8GB RAM around ₹39,999 and 256GB storage with 8GB RAM around ₹44,999. These are pre-launch listings and should be treated as indicative until vivo confirms official pricing at the August 25 event.
For now the focus remains on design and AI.
