Marketing material for two long-rumoured Poco phones has surfaced on X, giving the clearest look yet at the Poco X8 and the Poco X8 Power ahead of an expected launch.
The slides were shared by a tipster shortly after earlier chatter about a 10,000 mAh Poco device. The documents suggest both handsets are close to release and, as with recent Poco launches, they appear to follow Redmi hardware closely.
What the leak claims
The material points to the X8 being essentially a global version of the Redmi Note 17 Pro, while the X8 Power aligns with the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max. The differences between the two Poco models are modest, with the Power variant adding a larger battery and faster charging.
According to the slides, the Poco X8 is built around a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a peak brightness of 3,500 nits and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on the front. Imaging is handled by a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation and a 16MP front-facing camera.
Power comes from a 9,000 mAh cell with 67W wired charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging. Under the hood sits a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset. Durability is highlighted with IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, and Poco is said to promise four major OS upgrades alongside six years of security updates.
The Poco X8 Power reuses the same 6.83-inch AMOLED display with 3,500-nit peak brightness and the same 50MP OIS main camera. It adds an 8MP ultrawide camera and upgrades the selfie unit to 32MP.
Battery capacity jumps to 10,000 mAh with 100W wired charging and 27W reverse wired charging. The SoC changes to a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5. Water and dust resistance ratings are identical to the X8, as is the software support promise of four OS upgrades and six years of security patches.
Rebrand pattern continues
The spec overlap with the Redmi Note 17 series reinforces Poco’s established practice of repurposing China-first Redmi hardware for global markets under the Poco brand. The leak notes only minor tweaks between the Redmi originals and the Poco versions, consistent with previous generations.
The source behind the slides says both phones are heading to India by early September, which would put a launch very soon. Pricing is expected to sit below the Poco X8 Pro, positioning the X8 and X8 Power as larger-battery, mid-range options.
If accurate, the pair would bring unusually large batteries to the Poco X series, with the X8 Power’s 10,000 mAh cell and 100W charging standing out in the segment, while the X8’s 9,000 mAh pack and 67W charging aim for endurance at a lower price point.
Both devices also emphasise durability with the full IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K suite, a step up from many rivals in the class, and the long software support window is notable for the price tier.
Poco has not confirmed the devices officially. An announcement in India in the coming weeks would line up with the tipster’s timeline and the recent leak momentum around the X8 family.
