The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra 5G measures 73.56 millimetres wide, 163.3 millimetres tall and just 8.41 millimetres thick, tipping the scales at 204 grams. Its front is dominated by a 6.79‑inch colour AM‑OLED panel that delivers a resolution of 1116 by 2480 pixels, promising vivid colours and deep blacks typical of OLED technology.

Under the hood the device runs Google Android 12 and is equipped with 12 GiB of RAM, while a 5000 mAh battery supplies the power needed for extended use. Connectivity is handled through a single SIM slot, keeping the design streamlined.

The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra 5G Top Edition stands out with its 1 TB of internal storage and a stepped‑up 16 GiB of RAM, offering more memory than the base model’s 12 GiB while keeping the same 5000 mAh battery, AM‑OLED screen dimensions and Android 12 software. It retains the single‑SIM configuration of the base model, unlike most other editions that ship with dual‑SIM capability.

Compared with the sibling variants, this Top Edition matches the Space Edition’s 1 TB storage but pairs it with 16 GiB RAM (versus the Space Edition’s 18 GiB) and a single SIM slot (where the Space Edition and most Premium/Standard models use dual SIM). It also differs from the Premium Edition’s 512 GB/12 GiB configuration and from the various Standard Edition models that offer either 256 GB/8 GiB, 128 GB/8 GiB or similar lower‑tier specs, all while staying within the China‑market TD‑LTE CN band.
