Among the other S8+ Duos TD‑LTE variants, it is the only SM‑G955FD model that couples 4 GiB of RAM with a global Android 7.1.1 build; the similarly named 128 GB SM‑G955FD variant upgrades to 6 GiB of RAM, and the SM‑G9550 64 GB version keeps 4 GiB but ships with the Korean Android firmware, setting this model apart in both memory and software.
