The Samsung Galaxy J5 2017 feels comfortable in the hand with dimensions of 71.3 mm wide, 146.2 mm tall and just 8 mm thick, weighing in at 160 grams. Its front is dominated by a 5.19‑inch AM‑OLED panel that delivers vivid colours and deep blacks, while the 720 × 1280 resolution provides clear detail for everyday use.
Inside, the device runs Google Android 7.0 Nougat and is paired with 2 GiB of RAM to handle apps and multitasking. A 3000 mAh battery supplies the power needed for a full day of typical usage, and the phone supports a single SIM card for connectivity.
This variant adds TD‑LTE support for Korean networks and increases the internal storage to 32 GB, while retaining the same screen size, resolution, chipset, 2 GiB of RAM, 3000 mAh battery and physical dimensions as the base Galaxy J5 2017.
Compared with the LATAM‑focused Duos models (SM‑J530GM/DS, SM‑J530GM, SM‑J530G/DS) it provides a Korean‑market, single‑SIM configuration with double the storage; it differs from the other Korean TD‑LTE KR 32GB units (SM‑J530L, SM‑J530S) by its unique SM‑J530K model number; and unlike the Duos TD‑LTE 32GB model (SM‑J530FM/DS) it is aimed specifically at Korea without a dual‑SIM option.
