Konka

Konka is a Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong. While the company has historically been a major player in the home appliance sector, producing televisions, air conditioners, and refrigerators, it also entered the mobile phone market in the early 2000s. During its peak in the mobile industry, Konka was one of the top domestic handset manufacturers in China, competing with other local giants by offering a wide range of feature phones and, later, early-generation smartphones. The company’s mobile phone division was known for aggressive marketing and a broad product portfolio that targeted various price points. Notable design efforts included the "ZeroBezel" concept, which aimed to maximize the screen-to-body ratio with virtually edge-to-edge displays, a feature that was marketed to appeal to consumers seeking modern aesthetics in their devices. Konka’s manufacturing infrastructure, including facilities established as early as 2000, supported its diverse production needs across electronics and appliances. In recent years, Konka’s presence in the global mobile phone market has diminished significantly. The company has shifted its strategic focus back to its core home appliance businesses and other industrial ventures, such as the production of printed circuit boards and components. While Konka remains a recognized brand in China for consumer electronics, it is no longer a significant competitor in the smartphone industry, having largely withdrawn from the mobile handset market to concentrate on other areas of its diversified portfolio.
