Fujitsu Limited is a Japanese multinational information and communications technology corporation established in 1935 and headquartered in Kawasaki, Kanagawa. While the company has built its primary reputation as a major provider of enterprise computing, data storage, and telecommunications services, it also maintained a presence in the mobile phone industry for several decades. As a listed company on the Tokyo and Nagoya Stock Exchanges, Fujitsu is currently the largest IT services provider in Japan and ranks among the top global providers by revenue. The company’s involvement in mobile devices was part of its broader hardware portfolio, which historically included personal and enterprise computing products such as servers and microelectronics. However, Fujitsu’s strategic focus has shifted significantly in recent years. According to recent historical reviews of the company’s evolution, Fujitsu made the decision to exit the consumer mobile phone and personal computer markets between 2015 and 2020. This withdrawal marked the end of its direct competition in the smartphone segment, allowing the corporation to concentrate its resources on enterprise AI, advanced microelectronics, and its core computing services. Consequently, Fujitsu no longer produces new mobile phones for the consumer market.
